Pepco Modular Training Facility

Upper Marlboro, MD

The Challenge

Pepco, a public utility that supplies electric power to the city of Washington, D.C. and to surrounding communities in Maryland, needed more training space at their Oak Grove Facility in Upper Marlboro, MD. It is at this location they train pole technicians. Pepco contacted Modular Genius to install a new modular training room building. They wanted the exterior to match well with the buildings already on site and functional for up to 30 new trainees.

The Solution

Modular Genius built a new 24’ by 60’ modular unit to MD and IBC Codes. The building contained an IT closet, two private offices, a conference room/break room, and a large area for up to 30 trainees. Gray aluminum .019 siding was used to match the two existing modulars on site. Built with an acoustical ceiling and recessed LED lights, featuring a welded on Corlon flooring for durability. MGI provided the skirting, along with site installed gutters and down spouts. Blocking in the walls was accounted for to hang large wall mounted TV’s and a 36’ counter with plenty of cabinets underneath for storage.
