Pepco Prefabricated Training Facility

Washington, DC

The Challenge

Potomac Electric Power Company, or PEPCO, a large energy company in DC needed additional employee training space for 5 or more years. The space required at least three large classrooms for 20 adults per room, plus restrooms and several offices. The building was constructed with the possibility of use past the initial 5 years needed, and could be moved where needed.

The Solution

Modular Genius designed and built a new 36’ x 120’ modular training facility comprised of six modular units. MGI built the prefabricated facility with three classrooms each for 20 trainees and the instructor. The buildings also included five private offices, a large conference room, mechanical room, adequate restroom facilities for about 80 occupants, a copy area, break room, along with a large IT room. Armstrong Corlon flooring was installed on site for durability. Hi-rib industrial steel siding and skirting was installed, along with gutters, down spouts, decking, multiple ramps, steps, and canopies. The building had vinyl covered gypsum walls, LED lighting and an acoustical ceiling.
