The Challenge

The Maryland State Highway Administration needed to replace an aging modular building at its Cecilton site, the fourth and final stop in a four-location statewide replacement contract. Cecilton required the largest building in the series and came with a unique site condition: rather than replacing the existing double-wide unit in its exact footprint, the new building had to be positioned roughly 10 to 20 feet south of the original structure in the same orientation, while the existing double-wide remained in place.

The Solution

Modular Genius installed a new 24×60 modular building at the Cecilton site, the largest unit in the four-site replacement contract. The new building was positioned approximately 10 to 20 feet south of the existing double-wide, in the same orientation, allowing the site to accommodate both structures without disrupting existing operations. The building was set on ABS pads and block with anchors and full skirting. Interior finishes matched the standard set across the series: VCT flooring, central HVAC, and a full restroom. Electric and plumbing were cut and reconnected on site. With Cecilton complete, all four sites in this statewide contract were successfully delivered.
