Specialty Granules (“SGI”) is a leading aggregates and mining company supplying specialized products to the North American building materials industry. SGI needed to replace an aging office building within the plant in Pennsylvania. Safety and plant interruptions were their largest concerns for completing this project. The location of the new building would be next the operating area of large equipment and truck route. This posed a problem if they went with traditional construction, which would have created safety concerns and reducing the productivity of the plant.
Modular Genius was SGI’s first call to discuss how off site modular construction of a modular building would benefit them. SGI commented “Back in 2018, Modular Genius designed, built and installed a 2,880 sqft main office building using permanent modular construction and we were very happy with the process and the quality of our building”. Modular Genius worked with SGI every step of the way to ensure our building would meet their unique local code requirements, space efficiency, and limit any disruption on the property. The building needed durable finishes to meet conditions at the plant. High Rib Steel exterior siding, Steel Exterior Doors, Low E double hung windows, and custom flooring are a features that will make the building last for decades. A large break room with oak cabinets will provide necessary break and lunch space for the shift workers.
