Relocation of Modular Classrooms at Public High School

The Challenge

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) required the relocation of two modular classroom buildings, each 864 square feet and configured as single classrooms, to the campus of Largo High School in Largo, Maryland. The move was necessary to accommodate shifting student populations and support evolving instructional space needs. The district needed a fast and efficient relocation process that would minimize disruption to the school schedule while ensuring the classrooms remained fully compliant with Maryland educational building codes.

The Solution

Modular Genius relocated both 864 sq. ft. single-classroom modular buildings to Largo High School, providing a timely and efficient solution for PGCPS. Each building was transported, installed, and reconnected to existing utilities in accordance with local and state code requirements. The classrooms remained code-compliant and ready for immediate use upon completion. The project demonstrated the flexibility of modular construction and allowed the district to adapt quickly to space demands without the delays associated with traditional construction.
