Modular Classroom Complex for James Madison Middle School

The Challenge

James Madison Middle School, a suburban public school within Prince George’s County Public Schools, serves approximately 800 students in grades 6 through 8 with a student-to-teacher ratio of 15.1:1. As enrollment continued to grow, the school required additional classroom space to support its expanding student population. To meet the district’s immediate needs quickly and cost-effectively, the decision was made to purchase a portable modular classroom complex. Modular Genius, Inc. was selected to design and install a solution tailored to the school’s requirements.

The Solution

Modular Genius designed, manufactured, and installed a 10,164-square-foot modular classroom complex featuring ten classrooms along with boys’ and girls’ multi-stall restrooms. The new modular facility was built to provide a functional, durable, and accessible learning environment for both students and staff. ADA-compliant ramps were incorporated throughout the project to ensure accessibility for all occupants. The modular classroom complex was designed to meet the school’s operational, spatial, and educational requirements while also complying with all applicable Maryland building codes and state design standards.
