Special Education Modular Classroom

Chillum, MD

The Challenge

A non-public, special education day school approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for boys and girls 5-21 years old who have emotional disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities was in need of more classroom space. They determined that leasing a modular classroom building was the fastest and most economical solution.

The Solution

Modular Genius, Inc. designed and built a 5,544 sq. ft. modular classroom featuring five large classrooms, two small learning areas, two private offices, and boys’ and girls’ multi-stall restrooms. The new modular classrooms were designed to be functional, durable, and easily accessible for all students. As such, ADA compliant ramps were installed. Modular Genius, Inc. provided 100% turnkey services for the customer including sanitary, domestic, and fire water lines to the building. Coordination with the power company was completed along with a main distribution panel and connection of electric to the modular classroom building.
