Relocatable Classroom Complex for Maryland School

The Challenge

Broad Ford Elementary School in Oakland, Maryland required additional instructional space to support its educational programming and accommodate student needs. The district sought a solution that would provide multiple full-size classrooms within a single, cohesive building while maintaining alignment with campus aesthetics and ensuring compliance with local building codes. Given the region’s seasonal weather conditions, including heavy winter snowfall, the structure also needed to provide safe, reliable access and year-round comfort for students and staff. An efficient project timeline was essential to minimize disruption and ensure the building was ready for occupancy as scheduled.

The Solution

Modular Genius delivered a 3,696-square-foot relocatable modular classroom building, configured from four modules and designed specifically for educational use. The single-story structure features four spacious classrooms connected by an interior corridor, creating an organized and functional learning environment within one unified building. The building includes individual HVAC systems, durable interior finishes, and ample lighting to support daily instruction. The exterior design integrates with the existing campus and incorporates code-compliant stairs, ramps, and covered entryways to ensure safe access in all weather conditions, providing the school with a high-quality, flexible educational facility delivered efficiently and ready to serve students immediately.
