Modular Training Facility for Utility Provider
The Challenge
A major electrical utility company in Maryland urgently needed additional training space for its field employees. Facing a strict deadline due to the fiscal year-end and with budget funds that had to be spent quickly, the client required a fast and efficient solution. The new building had to be delivered and fully installed before the fiscal year closed. Modular Genius was brought in to meet the challenge with a rapid-response modular solution.
The Solution
Modular Genius partnered with the client to develop the floor plan, building specifications, and scope of work, designing a 24-foot by 60-foot modular office built to Maryland Business Use Group code requirements. The building was constructed in Georgia, delivered to Maryland in just two days, and installed using ABS pads, double-stacked block, and tie-downs. It featured vinyl-covered gypsum walls, welded-on Corlon flooring, and .019 aluminum siding, along with a large number of quad floor receptacles, storage cabinets, and wall blocking for mounted TVs. ADA-compliant aluminum steps, a platform, and a ramp were included for accessibility, and final touches such as gutters, downspouts, and aluminum skirting completed the installation. The entire project was completed in less than two months from receipt of the purchase order, meeting both the client’s timeline and budget requirements.
