Temporary Modular Classroom for Baltimore School
The Challenge
Summit Park Elementary School, part of the Baltimore County Public Schools system, required a rapid and reliable classroom expansion to address increased student enrollment. The school district needed a solution that would minimize disruption to campus operations while meeting all state and local building code requirements for educational facilities, including accessibility and safety standards.
The Solution
A 960 sq. ft. relocatable modular classroom building was delivered and installed. The structure features a large, open instructional space filled with natural light from multiple windows, providing an optimal learning environment. The building includes a code-compliant concrete block perimeter foundation with vented skirting, wall-mounted HVAC units for climate control, and full electrical service integrated into the design. Access is provided through a main door with an aluminum ADA-compliant ramp. The floor plan also includes multiple egress points to ensure student safety and compliance with fire codes. Designed for both flexibility and long-term use, the modular building was installed quickly to allow students and staff to benefit from the added space without delay.
