The Challenge

As part of its ongoing commitment to employee well-being, a major manufacturing plant needed a high-quality child care center for its workforce in Mississippi. The goal was to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for young children ranging from infancy to school age. The center needed to be spacious, thoughtfully designed for developmental needs, and ready to serve nearly 300 children with minimal disruption to their operations.

The Solution

This new Child Care Center is a state-of-the-art early education facility that combines thoughtful design with the speed and efficiency of modular construction. The building includes 15,600 square feet of modular classrooms and support areas, along with a 2,400 square foot on-site storm shelter built from concrete masonry to provide enhanced safety for children and staff. Inside, the center features two infant rooms, two toddler rooms, two classrooms for two-year-olds, one preschool room, one kindergarten-prep room, and one school-age classroom, all fully furnished with child-sized fixtures and natural finishes. Each room is tailored to its age group with developmentally appropriate furniture, colorful accent walls, built-in storage, diapering or handwashing stations, and cozy areas for play and rest. Large windows and soft lighting create a cheerful, calm atmosphere throughout. The center also includes dedicated spaces such as a STEAM lab and a movement room which both double as ICC-500 Storm Shelters, as well as teacher prep rooms, giving staff the resources they need to support hands-on learning and physical development. For parents, the reception area is bright and welcoming, and there are convenient amenities like a nursing mothers’ room, car seat and buggy storage, and an administrative office suite. Outside, children enjoy secure, age-separated playgrounds with turf surfacing and shade canopies. Play structures are sized appropriately for infants, toddlers, and older children, encouraging safe, active exploration in the fresh air. This center offers a complete, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive — all just steps away from where their parents work.
