How Modular Genius Provided a Custom Turnkey Bunkhouse when a general contractors schedule changed
The Challenge
A general contractor working on a Maryland fire station project faced a problem that comes with building around first responders: the station could not stop operating while construction was underway. Firefighters work around the clock, and for roughly 18 months the crews needed somewhere on site to sleep and live. A standard construction site office is built for a workday, not for a crew that never fully clocks out. The contractor needed a custom bunk house, delivered quickly and ready to use for the length of the project.
The Solution
Modular Genius provided a custom 2,880-square-foot modular bunk house built as dormitory living space, giving the crews a dedicated place to rest between calls for the duration of the project.
Turnkey delivery and installation covered transportation, a crane set onto a new foundation, skirting, gutters and downspouts, and decks, steps, and ramps for access. With interior finishes, siding, and roofing completed before the building arrived, on-site work centered on the set, foundation, and access rather than construction.
