About West Virginia

This area in the Appalachian Mountains was originally part of the Virginia Colony established by England in 1606. Before the Europeans arrived and settled in Jamestown, the land had been settled by the Shawnee, Cherokee and Iroquois tribes.

West Virginia was formed when 39 counties split from Virginia to side with the Union during the Civil War instead of joining the Confederacy. Abraham Lincoln signed the order recognizing West Virginia as the 35th US state in 1863.

Today, West Virginia is a major coal-producing state, supplying about 15 percent of the nation’s coal.  Its economy is also supported by the chemicals, biotech, energy, aerospace and automotive industries, as well as by tourism. Military bases include Shepherd Field Air Force Base and Navy Information Operations Command Sugar Grove.

The state has a wide range of public and private higher education facilities, including West Virginia University, Marshall University, and Wheeling Jesuit University. It is also home to scenic and historic areas such as Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Bluestone River National Scenic River, Blackwater Falls State Park, Prickett’s Fort State Park, the New River Gorge Bridge ( the longest steel arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere), and the historic Greenbriar Hotel built in 1778.

About Modular Buildings

Modular buildings can be created in virtually any design, from single-story structures to contemporary multi-story complexes that exceed 100,000 SF.  Choose from standard floor plans, or get creative and customize a design to get the exact layout you need.

Offices & Administrative Space

Today’s state-of-the-art design and construction technologies can create quick, easy solutions for temporary or permanent office space at a fraction of the cost of traditional construction.   Modular buildings are ideal for use as sales offices, real estate offices, bank branches, executive suites, jobsite management offices, and many other applications.

Case studies: Modular Genius has completed everything from a 2,880 square foot modular administrative building for a leading U.S. aggregates and mining company, to 27,000 square foot 3-story modular office building for a research and development healthcare company.

Educational Space

In the context of education, modular buildings from Modular Genius are effective for coping with sudden changes in enrollment or expanding a campus’ capabilities with the addition of science labs, media centers, gymnasiums, libraries, and even dormitories and residence halls.

Case studies: Modular Genius’ 7,200 square foot Barrie School research learning lab in Silver Spring, MD, was built from reclaimed materials and recycled post-consumer products, and features an elaborate waste water management system.

Healthcare Space

Whether you are adding on to your current healthcare facilities or expanding into a new community, consider utilizing state-of-the-art modular buildings for the extra space you need to better serve patients, doctors and hospital staff. Enlarge an emergency room or outpatient facility; add testing labs, dialysis, physical therapy, or laundry facilities.  It’s a great way to meet your growing, sometimes urgent, demands without struggling through a time-consuming, labor intensive construction process

Case studies: Modular Genius earned a 2016 Award of Distinction from the Modular Building Institute for the 3,535 sq. ft. temporary healthcare clinic for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. The modular building was designed to match similar visual aesthetics of the surrounding campus.
