About Modular Construction
Modular construction is building method that involves prefabricating modules in a factory and then delivering them to and assembling them on a building site.
At least 90% of the total construction takes place within our climate-controlled facilities located throughout the U.S. Once completed, they are transported to the jobsite, where they are lifted by crane and affixed to an already prepared permanent foundation to form a finished building that is ready for use. Modules can be designed as single- and multi-story buildings and their uses are unlimited.
As far as longevity is concerned. temporary, or relocatable, modular buildings (not affixed to real estate) have a life expectancy of about 25 to 30 years, while permanent modular buildings have a lifespan of at least 50 years.
About Modular SCIF Buildings
A SCIF is a government-accredited facility, an enclosed area within a building, that can be used to view, discuss and store sensitive classified information derived from intelligence sources, methods, and analytical processes while preventing outside surveillance or spying.
The inherent design of modular buildings makes them more flexible than permanent reinforced concrete and masonry buildings, and they can be built at a fraction of the cost.
Their construction meets the high-security requirements for SCIF and SAPF in terms of physical security and hardening, acoustics controls, visual controls, access control, electronics and security systems. They can include innovations such as bullet-resistant glass, proximity and position-monitoring door hardware, pre-wiring for TV and data communication, and embedded sound masking and acoustical controls
Modular SCIFs from Modular Genius are built to meet Federal government standards for all site-specific mission requirements, including DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards, and force protection, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and communications requirements.
Our SCIF buildings are available in a wide range of floor plans, from 320 square feet to over 38,000 square feet and can be customized with UV and corrosion-resistant exterior coatings, blast-proof windows and doors, impenetrable locks, and progressive collapse capabilities. We can also securely wrap and transport them from the closest manufacturing facility to a US shipping port for shipment overseas.
Modular Genius holds a US General Services Administration (GSA) contract, GS-07F-0124W, and is one of the only Schedule 56 contract holders to offer energy efficient and eco-friendly GREEN modular buildings and services to the federal government. We have completed modular projects for every branch of the U.S. military, including administrative support facilities for the U.S. Navy’s Patuxent River Naval Air Systems Command.
Modular SCIF buildings from Modular Genius can be rapidly deployed, expanded, relocated, or reconfigured whenever the need arises. For more information about the many advantages of modular construction, contact us today at (888) 420-1113.
