Catholic Academy of Stamford Dedicates New Saint Carlos Acutis Modular Education Wing

Last Friday, The Catholic Academy of Stamford celebrated a milestone in its history with the dedication of the Saint Carlos Acutis Education Wing, a new addition designed to expand learning opportunities for its growing student body.

The day began with a ceremonial Mass at the school’s parish church at 9 a.m., where students, faculty, and community members gathered in prayer. Special guests were in attendance, including Bishop Frank J. Caggiano of the Diocese of Bridgeport and Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons, who presented an official city proclamation declaring September 12th as Catholic Academy of Stamford Day.

Following the Mass, Bishop Caggiano, members of the school’s faculty board, and invited guests walked to the new wing for a special blessing. As part of the ceremony, the bishop visited each of the classrooms, offering prayers over the new science lab, art room, Spanish classroom, and dedicated middle school room, marking them as spaces for inspiration, growth, and discovery.

Built using modular construction, the new wing was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to the existing campus, allowing the Academy to deliver high-quality learning environments on a faster timeline. Modular methods gave the school the ability to expand quickly while still providing a durable, permanent facility that will serve generations of students.

The addition of the Saint Carlos Acutis Education Wing reflects the Academy’s commitment to offering a well-rounded education that prepares students for the future, rooted in faith and community. With support from local leaders and dedication from faculty, the new wing will serve as a cornerstone for generations of students in Stamford.
