Arkansas History, Culture & Economy

Before Europeans arrived in 1541 in what we now call Arkansas, Native American tribes, including the Osage, the Caddo, and the Quapaw inhabited the land.

In 1803, the United States purchased a large region of land from France called the Louisiana Purchase, acquiring all the land west of the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains for $15,000,000. The land of Arkansas was included.

Arkansas became the 25th US state in 1836. Its capital city was established at Little Rock in 1821. Other major cities include Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Hot Springs, and Bentonville. The state’s economy today is driven by agriculture, transport and logistics, aerospace and defense, and forestry and timber.

The armed forces of the United States have built several military installations in Arkansas – Little Rock Air Force Base, Pine Bluff Arsenal Army Base, Fort Chaffee Army Base, and Camp Joseph Robinson Army Base. Colleges and universities include the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State University, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and University of Central Arkansas.

Whether your need is short-term, long-term or permanent, all of these Arkansas industries, educational facilities, and military facilities are well-served by cost-effective modular construction.

Some of Our Modular Construction Projects

Education

Changes in classroom design in the 21st century have us looking to create more flexible, open spaces where students have the flexibility to move, collaborate, and express themselves in imaginative ways.

If you are seeking modular classrooms that are modern, unique and green but are skeptical about what can be accomplished, consider Modular Genius’ innovative modular classroom design for the 7,200 SF Barrie School research learning lab in Silver Spring, MD.

The eco-friendly structure incorporated tall ceilings, moveable walls and lots of windows, and was built from reclaimed materials and recycled post-consumer products. We completed the project in just 121 days.

Healthcare

In growing communities like Bentonville, healthcare facilities always struggle with accommodating overcrowding, new treatments, and new technologies on tight budgets.

Modular health care buildings can help you create state-of-the-art facilities to serve patients, doctors and hospital staff. They add a level of flexibility that can help you prevent down time, enhance revenues, and avoid patient disruption caused by on-site construction.

Government/Park Services

Modular Genius designs, builds and installs award-winning modular building solutions for every industry, including state and national park visitor centers and ranger stations, government and military structures and more.

Arkansas has more than 60 national and state parks and forests, including Hot Springs National Park, Pea Ridge National Military Park, Lake Catherine State Park, and Bull Shoals–White River State Park. Our environmentally friendly modular buildings are ideal for use as temporary or permanent park headquarters, administrative offices, bunk houses, vacation cabins, ticket booths and guard houses, restrooms and changing rooms, equipment enclosures, and many other applications.

We constructed a permanent modular office building for the National Park Service at Assateague Island National Seashore. The ranger station was required to have a natural appearance and architecturally blend with the seashore and wildlife refuge. The project received an Honorable Mention from the Modular Building Institute.

As you evaluate modular buildings for your expansion needs in Arkansas, consider that the flexibility, affordability, and ability to be quickly deployed are just a few of their most attractive advantages. Call us today at (888) 420-1113 to learn more.
