Modular Fire Station Support Buildings

Tyndall Air Force Base, FL

The Challenge

Tyndall Air Force Base was faced with catastrophic damage when Hurricane Michael tore through the Florida Panhandle. The base is home of the 325th Fighter Wing with 3,600 men and women stationed there. Rebuilding the destroyed fire station would take years, therefore a temporary solution was needed as soon as possible.

The Solution

Modular Genius was hired by the prime contractor to provide multiple buildings totaling 21,392 sqft on an undeveloped site near the damaged fire department. The following relocatable modular buildings were built and installed: 3,600 sqft administrative building, 5,760 sqft operations and dinning building, three 1,904 sqft bunk houses, 5,040 sqft fitness/storage building, and 1,280 sqft of shipping containers were modified into fire storage for gear. Modular Genius completed the fire alarm and sprinkler systems. The prime contractor completed the site work, utilities, and interior furniture. A separate contract provided the apparatus bay for the fire trucks and equipment. A team effort by all got the fire department up and running again.
