The Challenge
The Washington County Public Schools renovation project at AS Rhodes Elementary School would require displacing students during the 2020/2021 school year. A relocatable classroom building was required. Due to the short duration of the renovation project, leasing a mobile classroom building was the best economic solution for WCPS.
The Solution
Modular Genius was awarded the temporary classroom project and worked with school officials to design a Virginia code approved mobile classroom building. It was determined that a portable classroom building with 4 large classrooms and a center hallway would be the best solution to relocate their students during the renovation project. Modular Genius’ scope of work comprised of design, engineered drawings, modular classroom building, foundation, installation, ADA door platforms, ramps and steps as required by VA code. The client was very satisfied with Modular Genius’ communication and construction processes.
