Modular Genius & Marshall County Public Library

Modular Genius is awarded the Marshall County Public Library Project in Cameron, WV

The City of Cameron, WV only had one library on the 3rd floor of an old building with minimal current code compliance.  Upgrading the existing building would be too great an expense, and the closure of the library during construction would have a negative impact on the community. Marshall County Public Library, a KPN member, contacted Modular Genius to design a new library with a community room that will serve the elementary school next door. Modular Genius’ design team worked with the client to create a new, modern library that will be twice the size of their current library.

Modular Genius, through the KPN contract, worked with the client on design, site selection, and custom finishes to create a modern library for the community. Custom Corlon flooring, commercial carpet squares, and painted interior walls will compliment the exterior Hardi siding with custom built overhang mansard, and glass store front door.

According to library Director Susan Reilly, the Moundsville library provides book lending, internet, and printing services to thousands in the county who are unable to afford or access the services at home,  “Modular Genius’ team spent a lot of time with us designing the space and provided valued input on the layout of the space to ensure we have a library that will serve our community for decades to come.” The library is expected to be ready to occupy in November, 2020.
