Employee Spotlight – Albert M. Hayes, IV

How Long have you been in the modular building industry and what roles have you held?
After 7 years in conventional construction, I accepted the position of Project Manager with Williams Scotsman in March of 2007 to start my career in the modular construction industry. In April of 2017, I joined the Modular Genius team bringing 10 years of experience in the modular industry. In my 12 years of Project Management in modular construction, I have been the direct supervisor and point of contact for budget, schedule, estimating, document control, and daily operations for construction projects ranging in size from 720sf – 60,000sf. I have been successful in producing positive results and I have a consistent history of advancing shared company goals.

Favorite/Most Interesting Project
The project I take most pride in, is Prince George’s Community College Annex B & C. This was a full turn key facility, 32,000sf single story 2-building complex complete with classrooms, assembly room, faculty lounge, offices, conference room, computer labs, faculty and student’s restrooms. The buildings were designed to provide flexible space for the college during renovation to existing facilities on campus. The buildings are equipped with automatic sprinkler, fire alarms systems, IT capabilities, digital display equipment and is ADA accessible.

Both buildings had to meet the campus design requirements. By working with the College during the design review, we were able to conceal standard modular requirements and accenting the exterior façades with Nichiha fiber cement siding, brick facade skirting and decorative canopies to blend into the campus aesthetics. In addition to providing a new modular facility, I managed the development the surrounding areas to provide additional parking on campus, accessible walkways and micro-bioretention ponds for efficient storm water management.

Hobbies
When I’m not watching my son’s baseball travel team or cheering my daughter on at her swim meets. I enjoy relaxing by my Koi pond or rough housing with my St. Bernard.
