Modular Field Office

Modular Field Office

Have you been considering a modular field office but are concerned about its aesthetics, cost, and durability?

Modular Genius specializes in design-to-occupancy modular construction and has delivered hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space, both relocatable and permanent, to commercial, institutional, and government customers across the United States.

If you are afraid you will be disappointed by a boring, unappealing modular office, take a look at some facts about these prefabricated buildings that may convince you otherwise.

MYTH: All modular office buildings are boxy and unattractive

FACT: Today’s state-of-the-art design and construction technologies enable us to create versatile exterior designs that are equivalent to traditional stick-built office buildings. Single and multi-story designs can be created to suit virtually any purpose and finished with brick, stucco, or other architectural surfaces that will blend with the surrounding architecture. An example of an inviting small modular field office is the Assateague Island modular ranger station we created for the National Park Service that was awarded an Honorable Mention by the Modular Building Institute.

MYTH: Relocatable modular buildings are not durable

FACT: Relocatable modular buildings are built to the same standards as traditional structures and are equally strong.  They adhere to the same building and occupancy codes and are inspected often to ensure top quality. In fact, because they must be transported by truck to your construction site, extra attention is paid to their ability to withstand wind and poor weather along the way. With proper care and maintenance, relocatable modular buildings can last 25 to 30 years and may last longer when permanently installed.

MYTH: Modular and conventional construction costs about the same

FACT: This is not true. In fact, the cost of prefabricated modular buildings is about 20% less than stick-built buildings, but time is also money, and modular buildings can be delivered 40% to 50% faster than their conventional counterparts. This means that your new office space will be ready for occupancy quickly.

MYTH: I’ll need a contractor anyway

FACT: Some modular builders do not provide turnkey services, which means that customers must do all building site preparation, obtain building and zoning permits, and install all outside utilities by hiring a licensed contractor. Modular Genius, on the other hand, has an experienced team of designers, engineers, project managers and field superintendents, and can serve as general contractor for all aspects of the modular construction process from architectural renderings to masonry, to paving and landscaping. Be sure to understand your responsibilities as the customer.

Don’t be fooled by these myths. Get started on your modular field office today by calling Modular Genius at (888) 420-1113 for solutions that will meet your deadlines and budget limitations.
