Wyoming History, Culture & Economy

  • People have lived in the land that is now Wyoming for thousands of years. When Europeans arrived in the 1800s, it was inhabited by the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Crow, Ute, and Shoshone Native American tribes.
  • The name Wyoming comes from the Native American word “mecheweamiing,” which means “at the big flats” or “large plains.”
  • When the United States bought the Louisiana Territory from France in 1803, a large part of Wyoming was included in the purchase.
  • Fort Laramie, established in 1834, was the first permanent settlement in Wyoming. By the mid-1800s, much of the area consisted of cattle ranches where cowboys worked the herds.
  • Part of the Wild West, famous outlaws like Butch Cassidy hid out in Wyoming towns and robbed trains.
  • In 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant established Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, the first national park in the country.
  • Wyoming was admitted to the Union as the 44th U.S. state on July 10, 1890. It is the 10th largest state by area but the second most sparsely populated state in the country.
  • Nicknamed the “Equality State,” Wyoming has been home to many pioneering ladies. It was the first U.S. territory or state to grant women the right to vote (in 1869), and in 1925 became the first state to elect a female governor.

Popular Modular Building Applications

Offices/Administrative

Modular Genius can create quick single- or multi-story solutions for relocatable or permanent modular office and administrative space in 40% less time and at a fraction of the cost of traditional construction.  Modular buildings are ideal for corporate offices, real estate sales offices, law offices, jobsite/construction offices, retail establishments, and any other permanent or temporary application you can imagine.

Government

Wyoming is home to many of America’s most pristine landscapes, including national parks (such as Yellowstone and Grand Teton), national historic landmarks, and nationally recognized areas, trails and monuments, making the state a magnet for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. Modular government buildings are ideal for use as offices, ranger stations, visitor centers, retail kiosks, sales facilities, and other applications.

Education

Modular classrooms and dormitories have grown in popularity because they are fast to build, exceptionally flexible, and amazingly cost-effective. Modular Genius has an outstanding record in constructing modular classrooms, learning cottages, modular dormitories, daycare facilities, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and complete prefabricated school campuses.

Healthcare

In growing communities, healthcare facilities always struggle to accommodate overcrowding, new treatments, and new technologies in their tight budgets. Modular health care buildings can help you create state-of-the-art facilities to serve patients, doctors and hospital staff at a fraction of the cost. Add office space for administrative staff, modernize a rehab, lab or imaging center, or add a new type of treatment facility without breaking the bank.
